SEE IT IN ACTION

FROM DAYLIGHT TO DARKNESS.

The easiest way to understand BLOCKER is to see it working. Watch the pleated blind travel across the opening and see how the framed system changes the room when it closes.

THE PROBLEM

BLACKOUT FABRIC IS ONLY HALF THE JOB.

An opaque blind can stop light passing through the material and still leave a bright line around the top, sides or bottom. BLOCKER treats the window as a complete opening, using a pleated blackout blind inside a slim framed system rather than leaving the fabric edges exposed.

  • Light leaking around the sides
  • A bright line beneath the blind
  • Glare at sunrise
  • Street lights visible at night
WHY BLOCKER

THE BLOCKER SYSTEM

A SMARTER WAY TO CONTROL THE OPENING.

BLOCKER MODEL ALPHA™ pairs BLOCKER Pleated Blackout Fabric with a slimline framed system built around the opening, so the blind is guided and contained rather than hanging with exposed edges.

SLIMLINE MODEL ALPHA™ FRAME

A compact contemporary frame creates the perimeter of the system while keeping the finished installation visually restrained.

PLEATED BLACKOUT FABRIC

BLOCKER Pleated Blackout Fabric is a specialist pleated blackout material selected for strong light control and privacy.

GUIDED HAND OPERATION

The blind moves through the framed system using the pull rod for straightforward manual control.

COLOUR-MATCHED THRESHOLD

A 20mm threshold is specified to coordinate with the selected frame finish.

FOUR-SIDED TRUSEAL™

Flexible perimeter sealing on all four sides, designed to accommodate small irregularities around the recess and support a cleaner finished blackout seal.

MADE TO MEASURE

Every system is ordered to the dimensions selected for the individual opening.

HOW BLOCKER WORKS

ENGINEERED INTO EVERY BLOCKER

THE DETAILS THAT MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.

A blackout result depends on more than fabric colour. Frame geometry, fabric construction, guided movement and the way the system meets the recess all matter.

SEE THE DIFFERENCE

ONE WINDOW. TWO WORLDS.

Standard blackout blinds block light through the fabric. BLOCKER is designed to tackle the gaps around it too.

The difference is not simply darker fabric. BLOCKER changes how the blind meets the opening.

Two windows side by side: a conventional blackout roller glowing around its perimeter, and a fitted BLOCKER system with no visible edge light
STANDARD BLACKOUT BLIND

Opaque fabric. Visible perimeter light.

THE BLOCKER SPECIFICATION

THE TECHNICAL CHOICES ARE ALREADY MADE.

You should not need to understand a manufacturer’s configuration system to order a blackout blind. We standardise the core BLOCKER specification and leave you the choices that matter for your window.

MODEL ALPHA™

Slimline made-to-measure framed blackout architecture.

BLOCKER PLEATED BLACKOUT FABRIC

Specialist pleated fabric selected for blackout applications.

20MM COLOUR-MATCHED THRESHOLD

Coordinated with the selected frame finish.

FOUR-SIDED TRUSEAL™

Flexible perimeter sealing supplied as standard.

MADE TO MEASURE IN THE UK

Produced for the dimensions submitted for the individual opening.

YOUR WINDOW LABEL

Add an optional room/window name for easier multi-window ordering.

You choose the finish, opening side and dimensions. We take care of the underlying BLOCKER specification.

A BETTER FINISH AROUND REAL-WORLD WINDOWS

SMALL IRREGULARITIES SHOULDN'T BECOME LIGHT GAPS.

Window recesses are not always perfectly straight. Every BLOCKER MODEL ALPHA™ is specified with TRUSEAL™ around all four sides — a flexible perimeter fitting seal designed to follow small irregularities between the frame and surrounding recess.

Accurate measuring is still essential. TRUSEAL™ is not a substitute for ordering the correct size.

FLEXIBLE

Compresses around small variations in the fitting surface.

CLEAN

Designed to support a neat finished installation.

BLACKOUT SUPPORT

Helps close small perimeter gaps around the fitted system.

INTEGRATED AS STANDARD

TRUSEAL™ is part of the BLOCKER MODEL ALPHA™ specification rather than another technical decision the customer has to make.

Cross-section: the compressible seal sits between the MODEL ALPHA™ frame and the recess wall, following small irregularities in the opening.

FITTING

MADE TO MEASURE. DESIGNED TO FIT AT HOME.

BLOCKER arrives as frame sections that push-fit together, then fix into the recess. It is a competent-DIY job rather than a tool-free one: you will need a drill, a screwdriver, a spirit level and a silicone gun, and the fitting instructions ask you to seal the edges and top to get the best blackout and thermal result.

MORE THAN DARKNESS

COMFORT BUILT INTO THE BLIND.

A framed blind does more than control light. Holding a fabric layer inside a frame that meets the recess closely creates a more controlled layer at the window, which can contribute to comfort through changing seasons.

INDEPENDENTLY RESEARCHED THERMAL PERFORMANCE

The underlying framed blind technology has been independently evaluated at the University of Salford's Energy House 2.0.

YEAR-ROUND COMFORT

The system is designed to help reduce unwanted heat transfer through the window.

A COMPLETE LAYER AT THE OPENING

The framed installation and four-sided TRUSEAL™ perimeter work together to close the gaps an unframed blind leaves open.

REAL-WORLD RESULTS VARY

Thermal performance varies with the fabric specification, window, glazing and quality of installation.

HOW BLOCKER COMPARES

HOW BLOCKER COMPARES.

Four ways people try to darken a room, and what each approach is typically designed to do.

How four approaches to room darkening compare

BEFORE YOU ORDER

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

What makes BLOCKER different from a normal blackout blind?

A normal blackout roller may use opaque fabric while still leaving gaps around the perimeter. BLOCKER is a made-to-measure pleated blind inside a slimline frame, so the system addresses the opening rather than the fabric alone.

How do I measure?

Measure the internal width at the top, middle and bottom, and the internal height at the left, centre and right. Order using the smallest figure in each direction. The full measuring guide walks through every step.

Why do I measure three widths and three heights?

Window openings are often slightly uneven. Six measurements identify the narrowest width and shortest height, so the blind is not made larger than the available opening.

Do I need to make a deduction?

No. Enter the exact measurements you took and allow the manufacturing system to apply any required fitting allowance. Do not subtract an arbitrary few millimetres of your own.

Can you help me check an unusual window?

Yes. Send a straight-on photograph of the window, a side-angle photograph showing the recess depth, a close-up of the handles and your six measurements. We will review them before you order.

Does BLOCKER fit every window?

No made-to-measure system fits every opening. Compatibility depends on dimensions, obstructions and how the window opens. Use the window types guide and the measuring guide before ordering.

Can I order in inches?

Yes. Switch the unit to inches in the configurator. Everything is converted to millimetres for manufacture, and both figures travel with your order so you can check them.

What is BLOCKER MODEL ALPHA™?

MODEL ALPHA™ is the BLOCKER framed blackout system: a slimline frame around the opening with pleated blackout fabric guided inside it, rather than a flat sheet of fabric hanging in front of the glass.

What fabric does BLOCKER use?

BLOCKER Pleated Blackout Fabric — a specialist pleated blackout material selected for strong light control and privacy.

What is TRUSEAL™?

TRUSEAL™ is a flexible four-sided perimeter fitting seal designed to accommodate small irregularities around the recess and support a cleaner finished blackout seal. It is included as standard on every BLOCKER MODEL ALPHA™.

Is BLOCKER made in the UK?

Yes. Every BLOCKER MODEL ALPHA™ is made to measure in the UK to the dimensions you submit.

Does BLOCKER help with thermal performance?

The underlying framed blind technology has been independently evaluated at the University of Salford’s Energy House 2.0. The actual benefit depends on the fabric specification, the window and glazing, the dimensions and the quality of installation.

How is BLOCKER installed?

You assemble the frame, position it in the recess, drill and fix it, then seal the edges and test the blind in daylight. It needs a drill and basic tools. The full installation guide covers each stage.

What if my recess is not perfectly straight?

Measure carefully at several points and order to the smallest figures. TRUSEAL™ helps with small fitting-surface irregularities, but it does not correct an incorrectly sized blind.

Can I change my measurements after ordering?

Contact us immediately. Once manufacture has started, made-to-measure dimensions may no longer be changeable.

Enter your measurements and we will make the blind for that opening.
