How it works

THE GAP ISN"T IN THE FABRIC. IT'S AROUND IT.

BLOCKER is a made-to-measure blackout system built around your whole opening — fabric, edges and fit together. This page is the six-step route from your window to a genuinely dark room.

A cross-section of a bedroom at night: a standard blind is fitted in the window, but thin lines of light escape around its top, bottom and side edges into the dark room. EDGE LEAK STILL VISIBLE AT NIGHT

SAME WINDOW. TWO DIFFERENT EDGES.

Standard blackout blinds are built to stop light through the fabric. BLOCKER is built to stop it at the edge, top and bottom too.

Standard blackout blind

Fabric blocks the middle. The gap around every edge lets light straight through, especially once eyes adjust to the dark.

BLOCKER

A continuous seal runs around the whole perimeter — fabric, sides, top and bottom act as one fitted system.

Before you start measuring

THREE QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK FIRST.

Will this fit my window?

Most recessed windows work. The clearest way to check is the Window Types guide, which covers the recess shapes and depths BLOCKER is built for.

How long does it take?

Your blind is made to order once your measurements are confirmed, so lead time starts from there rather than from when you place the order. Current dispatch times are on the Delivery & Returns page.

What if my measurements are slightly off?

The edge seal is designed to take up small irregularities between the frame and the recess. It isn't a substitute for measuring carefully, though — which is exactly why the measuring guide walks through it point by point.

Ready when you are

START WITH YOUR MEASUREMENTS.

Everything above starts from the same two numbers. Get those right, and the rest of this page is just what happens next.
